The Mission is to provide a pathway to Colleges and Universities for high school
athletes who are interested in continuing their education and athletic abilities at the Collegiate level. Created by Luther Johnson (also known as Coach Johnson), who brings years of football knowledge and competitiveness to a very needed community. Coach Johnson goal is to help as many high school athletes get into college as possible. All they (the players) need is a CHANCE and Coach Johnson is willing to Help!
Coach Johnson perfected his craft starting back in the 80's under the leadership of Coach Nelson Hayspell (Willingboro HS), New Jersey. Coach Johnson worked on both sides of the ball during his 9 year tenure under Coach Hayspell. He has a total of 21+ years of football experience on the high school and collegiate Junior College (JUCO) levels. While coaching JUCO, under Head Coach Calvin Thompson, Coach Johnson had the opportunity to expand his coaching techniques and skills. Coach Johnson is a Co-Founder of the NJ Minority Coaches Association, a member of the New Jersey Football Coaches Association (NJFCA), serves as a Trustee for the Phil Simms North/South Annual Football Classic, and . Coach Johnson has coached young men from ages 8 to 20 years of age and has coached with the Offense- Defense Summer Football Camp for 14+ years in NY, NJ, CONN., MD, and FLA. He has coached combines for NATS Testing Camps, NFL HSPD and JPD Camps, and
Glazier Football Clinics. Coach Johnson is the 2022 South General Manager for the Phil Simms North/South Annual Football Classic.
The idea for College Gridiron Experience came from Coach Johnson's involvement with the Phil Simms North-South Annual Football Classic in New Jersey that highlights high school athletes throughout the State of New Jersey. After this point Coach Johnson wanted to help highlight the talents of all football players that are interested in attending and playing football at the collegiate level. Hence, came the development of the College Gridiron Experience. Conferences such as the PATRIOT, CAA, NEC, NEC-10, PSAC, MEAC, SWAC, CIAA, SIAC, BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE, and MOUNTAIN EAST CONFERENCE offer a wide range of educational and athletic opportunities for our young men in both the Division 1-AA, 2, 3 and Junior College levels.
